The revolutionary service that puts the customer in control

Direct2florist is a family-owned and operated firm set up in February 2007 in order to put you in direct contact with professional florist shops, wherever you want to have your flowers delivered.

As florists ourselves (we ran our own chain of florist shops in the North West of England), we were fed up receiving orders worth far less than the customer had paid, simply because the likes of Interflora, eflorist and Flowers Direct had taken a huge chunk of money as commission.

Therefore, in a crusade to give flower senders value for money, we set up florist2florist, a network of like-minded independent florists who could send orders to each other delivery in the UK, without the customer losing any of their order value.

This customer-focused, value-for-money approach, where the florist receives all of the money from an order and can therefore create bigger, better floral designs for customers, unsurprisingly proved extremely popular.

As the business grew, so did the demand from our customers for a website that allowed orders to be placed online, directly with the shop that would be delivering the flowers. Happy to oblige, we set up Direct2florist, which continues to grow rapidly, with 3,500 florists in 14 countries all working to the Direct2florist philosophy of offering:

  • Value for money - 100% of the flower value of an order goes to the delivering florist, resulting in a bigger, better end product.

  • The opportunity to select a particular shop based on information in the website entry, including a photograph of the shop giving the distance from the delivery address together with the prices and photos of the designs they produce.

  • The ability to choose a shop based on their individual flair and creativity.

  • The opportunity to deal direct with a real florist, at a time and place that suits you, over the Internet.

  • The only other charge you will ever pay with Direct2florist is the transmission fee, which is a contribution to website operation and promotion.

To sum it all up, by trying to do things differently and by putting customers first, we hope to revolutionise the way we do business. Judging by the response from our customers, we reckon we’re achieving our goals.

Star Rating

As a customer, you are hugely important to your chosen florist and our star rating system ensures that the florist will do everything possible to keep your goodwill. Every order placed on the website generates a confirmation e-mail receipt upon which there is a link to our “rating” site. You will be invited to enter a “star rating” from 1 to 5, which represents your evaluation of the delivery and service allowing the addition of your comments. This link may only be used once for each order placed.

The results are posted on view on the florist’s record in the form of a star rating and your comments may be accessed by potential customers.

Direct2florist’s alternative approach

Direct2florist’s way of doing business is very different from all the other “order gathering” services and organisations, where prices are set by the central organisation, without reference to the individual florists, and are applied throughout a country without taking into account individual shop overheads or regional costs. This results in higher prices across the board.

To make matters worse, as little as 60% of the total amount spent by you, the customer, goes to the shop delivering the flowers after a commission is taken out. As we don’t do this, it’s easy to see why Direct2florist ensures customers receive better value for money and a better service.
